Generation Of Power Through Footsteps: piezoelectric material

Posted: 28 Jan 2011 09:02 PM PST

The application of our project is "Generation of power through footsteps". When we walk on the PVDF sheet the charges will be generated on the sides. By keeping two metals on the sides and charge induction, can we trap the charges generated and convert into voltage and store it in a battery.

Help with microcontrollers.

Posted: 28 Jan 2011 02:32 PM PST

Hello all.

I've recently got into doing small electronic work. Ive got some soldering experience and have done work with LEDS, resistors, capacitors, and transistors. Anyways, I would like to do a project with a microcontroller, a servo, sensor as well as some LEDS. However, there are so many different kinds of microcontrollers and i know basically nothing about them. I did some searching on the web and read some articles but its still clear as mud. Im hoping to keep things cheap and relatively simple as this is a simple project. any feedback is appreciated.

Super Capacitors or Batteries?

Posted: 28 Jan 2011 03:50 AM PST

The super capacitor is a totally new concept and in near future, it might replace the conventional batteries, thus overcoming the limitations of the batteries. The principle is identical to that of the electrochemical capacitors, and is based on the double layer concept. Working : At first we shall quickly review the principle of normal [...]
