Question from a Prospective Engineering Student Posted: 25 Apr 2011 07:22 PM PDT I am very interested in a career in Electrical Engineering. The problem is funds are tight and I would like to avoid student loans as much as possible. I have 1 year left of VA tuition reimbursement. I was considering doing an Electrical Engineering Technology program (2-year) and saving up after finding employment to complete a Bachelor's of EE. I am just looking to find out if through school or experience there is a way to transition from technician to engineer. Would it be likely that with an Associate's, I would have to start from scratch for a B.S.? Thank you in advance for any insight. I thought this would be the most informative and reliable resource for my quorum. |
Electromagnet to hold material in a tube Posted: 25 Apr 2011 03:09 PM PDT All, I'm looking to purchase a small electromagnet (no longer than 1 foot) that would go around a ~0.375" tube and hold ferrous balls in the tube in addition about ~15 vertical feet of additional balls above the emagnet. The total weight would only be about 4 lbs. Anyone know where I could purchase somehing like this? I could also make it out of the actual tube but was looking for a quick turnaround. Thanks! |
