Robots With Feelings: Is it really possible? Posted: 25 Mar 2011 09:36 AM PDT There's a scene in the movie called "I, Robot" when Will Smith, who plays a robot-hating cop, visits Bridget Moynahan, the scientist, and they begin to argue. She gets angry. Her personal robot immediately walks into the room and asks: "Is everything all right, Ma'am? I detected elevated stress patterns in your voice." - A very common scene for a sci-fi movie. Ever since I saw the Indian movie 'Robot', the question hovers in my mind : Robots With Feelings: Is it really possible? If it's possible, it is the future of robotics and the future of mankind. What are your opinions about this? |

Is M.tech after MCA possible for Non Maths students? Posted: 24 Mar 2011 11:15 PM PDT Hello friends Question: My friend did his schooling from commerce stream and his optional subject was NOT MATHS . Eventually he got admission in Bachelor of Computer application[BCA] and then pursued his MCA. Now, He wants to study Mtech but AICTE norms require him to have maths as a subject in 12TH, which he obviously does not have. So , what are the options for him considering M.tech from distance education? Is there any University which conducts M.tech through distance learning for non maths guys. I know there are a lot of universities conducting mtech through distance, but is it for a NON maths guy like him? |

Public source intelligence gathering Posted: 24 Mar 2011 05:54 PM PDT Hey guys, I'm working on an interesting project at uni and to give you a quick run down the idea is to search the internet for information about a certain company which could then be put together in a series of theoretical attacks against their IT systems. They could be social or technical and before you ask yes the company is aware i'm doing this so there's no legal issues haha! They want a report on my results so its basically an audit. I'll be looking for things like what software is used and version numbers, hardware specs, network details if i can find any etc.. Currently i'm designing a database to house all the information found from the searches. What i'm struggling with at the moment is how to classify the data into categories. I want to be able to maximize the usefulness of the database and make it easy to recall information. Do you guys have any suggestions on classifications? Or where i can look for similar projects to see how others have done it? Any input would be greatly appreciated! |
