| Should I partition my mac hard drive? Posted: 10 Jun 2011 12:16 AM PDT The way Mac handles files is a bit messy. As data changes through daily use, photos, text files and other things get mixed up with system files. Despite Mac OS X's default defragmentation work, this is a problem for disk performance and, inevitably, system performance at large. Should I partition my mac hard drive? What are the long term gains? PS: Expert advice will help beginners with Mac. ;) |
| The Official Sprint Photon 4G Press Conference Posted: 09 Jun 2011 11:28 PM PDT Sprint and Motorola held a press conference in New York City where they announced the first powerhouse phone from Motorola to land on the Now Network: The Photon 4G. | Disable Photo Recognition On Facebook Posted: 09 Jun 2011 11:24 PM PDT Facebook recently launched the photo-recognition service on Facebook. When you or a Facebook friend uploads a photo, Facebook uses facial-recognition software to match faces in that photo with previous photos on Facebook in which you've been tagged. Facebook groups similar photos together and suggests names for tagging purposes. According to Facebook Blog: "Now if you upload pictures from your cousin's wedding, we'll group together pictures of the bride and suggest her name. Instead of typing her name 64 times, all you'll need to do is click 'Save' to tag all of your cousin's pictures at once." That's great, unless one of those 64 photos are of you at the end of the evening, slumped in a chair with your tie in your drink. The introduction of facial recognition on Facebook has many users rightfully uneasy. Worse, Facebook has enabled it by default. Here's how to disable it: 1. Click on Account in the upper-right corner of your Facebook page, and from the pull-down menu choose Privacy Settings. 2. Find the small Customize settings link and click it. 3. On the next page, scroll down to the "Things others share" section, and click the Edit Settings button next to "Suggest photos of me to friends" header. You'll notice it's Enabled by default. Click on the button and select Disabled and then hit the Okay button to restore some of your privacy on Facebook. That will do the trick. :cean: |

| Posted: 09 Jun 2011 07:24 PM PDT I'm quite confident that the product naming team in Microsoft doesn't like to drive their cars - quite likely they have chauffeur driven cars. The thought comes to my mind because Microsoft decided to name their XBOX accessory 'WHEEL'. , I'm quite sure MS could have come up with a far better name and possibly gathered more sales. Anyway! Attachment 371 The XBOX 360 Wireless Wheel was recently unveiled by Microsoft for the racing fans. The gadget aims to fill the gap between quality video game driving kits and the modern gaming consoles. It's not clear from Microsoft whether the wheel requires Kinect to work. There are no physical pedals as well. The price of wheel is US$60. Which I'm not sure is good or not. What's your take on it? |
