Pressure distribution past an aerofoil

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 06:19 AM PDT

Hi everyone,

I am trying to model the deformation that might have an aerofoil under a given pressure distribution. This pressure distribution is given with CFD.
In order to model these deformations I use Patran (FE), and here comes the issue.

In order to apply the pressure distribution on the upper and lower aerofoil edge, I need to create a shell, which must have a thickness. As a result, the bigger is this thickness and the lower will be the deflection ( which is normal as I am applying pressure). My question is, how can I apply a pressure on the upper and lower edge without creating a shell. In a different way, would it be possible with using a shell to avoid this issue?

Many thanks
