Posted: 04 May 2011 01:27 PM PDT Hello there. Sorry for my english, im from DR. I've been asigned a grade project in college and i need some ideas on how to start. The project is about using SAN (storage area network) and make an implementation where i need to develop a service or application the takes all free space in every hard disk available on every host in the network and make a single logic unit with it. Then, distribute the files on the disks. Any ideas? |
Stratasys Acquires 3D Printer Maker, Solidscape Posted: 04 May 2011 08:59 AM PDT Strategic Acquisition Expands Direct Digital Manufacturing Vision FRANKFURT 4th May 2011 Additive manufacturing system maker Stratasys, (NASDAQ: SSYS), has acquired Solidscape, Inc. for $38 million plus certain purchase price adjustments. New Hampshire-based Solidscape is a manufacturer of 3D printers serving investment casting applications in the jewellery, medical, dental and industrial markets. The company's technology produces patterns that are used to cast highly precise metal parts. Solidscape is widely recognised as the leader for casting applications that require high-precision, ultra-fine feature detail and a smooth surface finish. The company had revenues of $13.4 million and generated approximately $4.3 million in EBITDA for calendar year 2010. "Solidscape is a strong, profitable company with an excellent reputation in the markets it serves," said Stratasys CEO Scott Crump. "We believe there is a significant market opportunity to expand its business in the under-penetrated jewellery market and the relatively undeveloped medical, dental and industrial markets. Solidscape's 3D printers are used in the manufacturing process, which is consistent with our strategy to pursue new markets for direct digital manufacturing applications." Stratasys will support Solidscape product development with the goal of producing systems that target new applications. Solidscape will operate from its base in New Hampshire as a wholly owned subsidiary of Stratasys. Solidscape leadership and management will stay with the company. Stratasys expects the acquisition of Solidscape will add approximately $0.04 per share to earnings in 2011. "This agreement represents the joining of two well-established leaders in additive manufacturing," says Solidscape President Michael Varanka. "We believe Stratasys and Solidscape have valuable synergies, and the two companies will make a good partnership." |

My Project Show Case | RF Communication | AT89S52 & RFM70 Posted: 03 May 2011 09:42 PM PDT Hello Ceans, Here i want to share one small project that i have made for RF communication. I am going to show off the Some Pics i have taken for this project and there is also one video. For the all technical detail you can check out my Another Topic on the same project:- http://www.crazyengineers.com/forum/...ing-rfm70.html  I have used General Purpose Board as there are very few components required. Microcontroller i have used :- ATMEL- AT89S52. Programmer for ATMEL:- TOPWIN Universal Programmer. RF Module:- RFM70 from HOPE RF. Communication between Microcontrolller and RF module:- SPI Assembling the Power Supply section for 7805- 5 Volt Regulator With PhoneJack, Crystal, Power Supply and other Indication LED. Solder side Interfaced with RF Module:- RFM70 and its now ready to use. RFM70 Soldering, This is bit tricky as the pitch is very small. ;) Back Side of GPB with 3.3 Vold SMD Regulator, Now i am going to Run the project. Topwin Universal Programmer for loading the Code into AT89C52 And Finally, The Working Board Guys in this project i have made one pair of Transmitter and Receiver and used Two LED as a indication of transmission and reception so here i am uploading a video that shows the LED blinking as per the transmission and reception. Blue LED is Blinking when i am sending the data and the same way when receiver receives the data it will compare it and if the data received is OK then it will blink the Green LED. -GodFather |
Suggestion | Create a Table in Post Posted: 03 May 2011 07:34 PM PDT Is there any BB Code is available to make a Table in our post? i found this type of BB code is available on some forums. Like if i want to Post the List of the Component used in my project then if i can create the Table in my post then it will make the post attractive. Is is possible to add that code on CE if it's not already there? |
