Posted: 19 May 2011 07:16 AM PDT Speedometer reads speed of the vehicle, and Tachometer reads RPM of the vehicle. Why do we require two meters, though i feel both seems to be like same? Both tell speed of the vehicle. 1. in Mi/Hr or KM/Hr and others in rpm(revolutions per minute). If you know one, you can calculate the other. Whats the exact use of using tachometer? |
Posted: 19 May 2011 02:35 AM PDT Hi everyone, I'm working to build a tracker which has load = 4 tonnes (evenly distributed mass) radius = 10 m with max tangential speed = 1.029747 m/min min tangential speed = 0.017453 m/min The requirement is with precision 0.01° The platform will rotate to track the sun and will be built on wheels for the rotation mechanism. Now, i'm planning to choose a suitable motor or if needed gear for the application. Could someone please help me with choosing the good rating of motor or if needed gear? Thanx in advance |
