Autonomous Mobility Robotics, action-perception update cycles... help Posted: 25 Apr 2011 10:35 AM PDT Hi, i have this homework problem, that I am having a hard time with. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Thanks for any advice you can give me. A robot is assumed to be moving along a straight line (the x-axis) with approximately constant velocity ‘u’. Its motion is modeled by the following equation: where: xi is the initial position at t=0 x is the position at time t u is the (assumed) constant velocity The initial position is established by a GPS reading and there are periodic GPS updates thereafter. As discussed in class, the equation above is just a model of the system motion, and there is some uncertainty (error) in the values it predicts. A GPS measurement is periodically used to correct (improve) our knowledge of the exact position of the robot. The GPS readings are available every second and are provided for the moving robot in the table below. Time ‘t’ (seconds) - GPS position (feet) 0 - 2 1 - 4.25 2 - 7.3 3 - 9.25 4 - 12.3 5 - 14.7 Other relevant data are as follows: Variance of GPS position estimates = .04 feet2 u = 2.5 feet/second System (motion model) noise variance = .09 feet2 Complete five full action-perception update cycles of the KF process to come up with the best estimate of the robot position at t= 5 seconds. Some points to note: · There are 5 steps in each KF cycle! · What variance does one start with? The first reading is obtained through a GPS measurement! Thanks again, Frank |
Posted: 25 Apr 2011 09:28 AM PDT I just graduated as a Civil Engineer. I have always had this idea of building artificial cave homes. Basic idea is inserting a 'cartridge' underground a lot like an RV with all the kitchen/bath/power/AC ect. Then build artificial cave living space around it. (inside can be pleasant home, mainly out side look as though its a natural cave) My question is what are the basic issues I need to investigate? this is what I have thought of.

Requirement of some raw meterials. Posted: 25 Apr 2011 07:28 AM PDT Hi there, Recently, I started small industry for making printed circuit boards and some type of PCB boards as beginning. So I am looking for a vendor who can supply machines and technology and requirement raw materiel. If you have any idea then, please reply to me. thanks lot Barbarino Jiangxi |

Posted: 25 Apr 2011 05:35 AM PDT hello all, i was pondering that what kind of transmission would be better for an all terrain vehicle of 10 bhp engine, top speed 60kmph and car weight 300 kg. Continuously variable transmission gives a lucrative option over conventional gear box but its not reliable. On the other hand gear box gives jerky motion to the vehicle while shifting to other gears. Help me on this. |
