Types of Molding sands

Posted: 05 Apr 2011 09:37 AM PDT

There are a different types of molding sands which are used in a foundry shop. I am mentioning the basic or the most common of them. There may be a lot more development now please correct or update my knowledge if I am wrong.

Green sand:
It is called green sand because of its water content. However it is color is black, remember that. It is a wet sand used for molding and contains about 20-30% clay and 8 % water by part. If we can maintain the amount of clay then we can easily maintain the flow-ability of sand. We can maintain its porosity.

Dry sand:
If we dry the green sand mentioned above, then we get dry sand. the physical composition remains same, except for water content.

Facing sand:
This sand comes in contact with direct contact of molten metal hence it is subjected to severest conditions. the basic composition is silica sand and clay but we do not use already used sand. We have to use fresh silica sand for preparing facing sand.
if we mix 1 part of the mentioned sand in 6-8 parts of normal molding sand then we can produce a facing sand.

Backing sand:
We can use old and repeatedly used sand for this purpose as this only contributes to support the mold. No need to waste fresh sand for it.

System sand:
We use this sand in mechanical foundries where we do molding with the aid of machines. we fill whole container with this sand and in this case we do not use facing sand.

Parting sand:
This is used so that the green sand should not stick to the pattern
Eg: We used Bentonite powder during our practicles

Core sand:
This is also called as oil sand. We can make this sand if we mix the normal silica sand with Linseed oil or any other oil like mineral oil or resin etc.
It is used to form the core.

I have created Basic layouts of ATM using java applet in Netbeans IDE.
for login 1 applet,2nd for withdraw ,3rd for deposit,4th for saving and etc
So sir i want that
if i click on OK button of login(when i run that applet) it should go to next applet on withdraw

And other thing is that i have made database on MSaccess so i want to have connectivity between this applets and DB(means i have done setting on administrative tool)but I don't know to connect applets to DB through it's coding so that if i click on log in button it checks on DB that this user is authenticate user and if not then i will show alert box(log in failed due to wrong )

in same way i log in and click on withdraw button it should check whether minimum balance is there or not and if it is then it should with draw and make changes to DB amount section

This are my applet screenshot

Drupal Lightbox: A New Cutting Edge Tool from the Community

Posted: 05 Apr 2011 12:41 AM PDT

Drupal may be one of the most advanced content management systems around, but until recently, it didn’t handle picture too well. In fact, every image had to be inserted manually in webpages built with the CMS. If you have been working with Drupal for quite some time, this might be one of the gripes you have always wished to be addressed. Well, seems like some others had a similar idea too. The Drupal Community has introduced a new feature in Drupal versions 6 and higher, which provides a catchy interface for image insertion in the admin panel.

What Makes Businesses Go For Drupal Consulting Services?

Posted: 05 Apr 2011 12:37 AM PDT

Open Source (OS) software systems have taken over the whole wide world of the web by storm and have made websites more flexible and highly scalable. Of course, leading the pack are the OS Content Management Systems (CMSs) and prominent amongst these is Drupal.

Drupal packs in all the advantages of an OS system and more. Apart from the definite cost benefits, this CMS also lets a business owner incorporate feature-rich applications into their websites. What is more, Drupal sites also facilitate peer reviews. There is a huge member community out there and courtesy the prolific developers, there is no dearth of updates and support.

However, most business owners would rather enlist professional Drupal consulting services to manage their websites. So what are the reasons that prompt them to seek Drupal services? Share your views friends...
