Boiler (master fuel trip)

Posted: 23 Mar 2011 02:23 PM PDT

BOILER (MASTER FUEL TRIP)

Steam Generator ( boiler ) is very important equipment at thermal power units , Boiler is the steam supply for the unit to rotate the turbine's rotor , hence produce electricity at Generator's stator.

Boiler usually equipped with solar and Main gas firing equipments , and you can imagine that huge boiler disappear in seconds unless operator take his precaution from operation hazards., hence Boiler always equipped with a protection relays to trip the boiler out of service if hazards conditions has happened , these relays are enclosed at huge protection system is called ( Master Fuel Trip ).

From its name ( Master Fuel Trip ) , it produces trip signal for fuel systems from operation , then trip the boiler out of service away from danger. this relay needs many conditions to operate , these conditions will be found at the following figure.

MASTER FUEL TRIP , CONDITIONS :-

1-REHEATER PROTECTION
2-DELAYED LIGHTING
3-LOSS OF ALL FUEL INPUT
4-DRUM LEVEL HI HI
5-DRUM LEVEL LOW LOW
6-ALL FD FAN STOP
7-FURNACE PRESSURE HI HI
8-CCS WATCHDOG ABNORMAL
9-COMBUSTION AIR FLOW LOW LOW
10-CONDENSER PROTECTION
11-PARTIAL LOSS OF FLAME
12-BOILER EMERGENCY TRIP
13-LOSS OF ALL FLAME
14-HP/LP BYPASS VALVE ABNORMAL CLOSE
15-ALL FUEL TRIP DELAY TRIP

Lets pay tribute to Saheed Bhagat Singh.

He was a great freedom fighter.
He was hung by Britishers on 23rd March 1931.
But he is still alive in hearts of people.

Thank You for taking birth in our country. You are always been a source of inspiration. I salute you.

Possibility of third world war.

This is with refrence to the MAYAN calendar which predicts doomsday in 2012 .
i think it may be true if anything like, a world war happens at this moment of time when countries like Pakistan ,North Korea and Iran are well equipped with nuclear weapons
the reasons that may lead to WW-III may be as follows
1:growing discontent among western and Asian world
2:weapons of mass destruction in the hands of terrorists
3:crude oil and water
Note: In coming 40 to 50 years there will be fight between countries for fresh water.
4:fight for supremacy between China,Russia&US we Indians are far behind in this race for supremacy.
A world war now will lead to the end of world it will be the dreaded DOOMSDAY...
I am crazy are you.... ? :cean:

CPU Scheduling Algorthm Simulator project (Learning Tool)

Posted: 23 Mar 2011 10:30 AM PDT

Im studying towards a BSc Degree in Computer Science and im in my final year. Im doing a project of developing a CPU scheduling algorithm simulator using Java programming langauge under a Netbeans 6.9 IDE platform. Im looking for assistance in the form of java source code for FIFO, Round Robin, Shortest job first, multi level feedback queue and also how to produce graphical animation to convey the concept of these algorithms.

im expected to finish my project by the end of May 2011

yo assistance regarding the above will be greatly appreciated and acknowledged

Written and directed by Rajneel Singh from New Zealand. Blank Spaces was a finalist in the Your Big Break competition a global search for the next great filmmaker. Their task was to capture the spirit of New Zealand in a 3 minute short film. Judged by Peter Jackson and produced by multi Academy Award winner Barrie Osborne.

I loved the idea, the concept.

Puzzle

I am about to throw a big party, and I bought 243 bottles of wine. 48 hours before the party begins, I receive a letter saying that one of those bottles has been poisoned. You have 5 rats, who are trained to drink wine and can only die of the poison (and not of excessive alcohol usage). When a rat is fed poisoned wine, it takes at most 24 hours for it to die. You cannot be sure whether it's drunk poison or not before the 24 hours have passed. How can you identify the poisoned bottle in 48 hours? (assume that the rat is allowed to taste a vine at an interval of 10 minutes)

Drag Cup Induction Motors

Posted: 23 Mar 2011 04:59 AM PDT

Guys, this is something i could know about drag cup type induction motors. If you know any additional thing, please share -
Whenever we talk of induction motors, invariably, we talk of two types i.e. squirrel cage induction motors and slip ring or phase wound induction motors. But only few of us might know about the kind of induction motor named as drag-cup induction motor. The name of this motor is on account of its peculiar rotor construction. This type of rotor is chiefly employed in AC servo motors in control system applications.
Construction: The key feature of this motor is its extremely low rotor inertia. Special arrangements are made in the design so as to achieve great reduction in the rotor inertia of the motor. For this, the mechanical linking of the current carrying conductors of the rotors with the magnetic circuit is removed. The rotor is made up in the shape of a drag cup. The rotor in this motor is directly coupled to the motor shaft. For an induction motor the value of slip at which motor gives maximum torque is given by Smt = R2/X2 where R2 = rotor resistance and X2 = rotor reactance. In drag cup type motor the value of rotor resistance is so adjusted to give the value of Smt = 1. Thus the motor gives maximum torque at the starting. The rated flux density is kept at a lower value so as to avoid non-linearity due to saturation effects.
Torque – speed characteristics: the rotor resistance adjustment (as discussed above) gives us torque-speed characteristic which is a fairly straight line. A straight line translates uniform and finite damping co-efficient as well as a properly defined transfer function for the motor.
The proper working of the motor greatly depends upon the fabrication of the motor. This is so because for this motor, a very thin walled cup has to be manufactured. This cup rotates in two thin annular air gaps. So any irregularity in the cup may produce unbalanced magnetic drag and may disturb proper functioning of the motor. Moreover, the length of airgap can not be increased beyond a limit as it would cause increase in the magnetizing currents and hence losses.
Applications: the motor finds applications in fields where instant rotation of motor is required. That is what this motor is meant for. Low inertia enables the motor to respond to even very small input signals. The motor is extensively used in feedback control systems as a derivative feedback giving instrument. It finds application is tachogenerators, odometers and rheometers. Rheometers are nothing but devices used to measure a liquid or slurry flows on application of forces. Rotational cylinder type rheometers employ drag cup type motors. However apart from this the motor is not as such used. That is the reason why most of us are unknown of this type of motor, but now you know!!
