How to Format a Pen drive on Mac OS X?

Posted: 20 Dec 2010 02:26 AM PST

I just figured out how to format a pen drive on a Mac. I hope this will be of help to all the newbies with Mac. :)

1. Plug the USB drive into the Mac. Avoid plugging it into a USB hub or the USB port on a Mac keyboard.

2. Open the Drive Utility software.
This is located in the Utilities folder, inside the Applications folder, on the top level of your hard drive. This software was installed as part of the Macintosh OS.

3. Select the drive in the list on the left-hand side of the window and highlight it. In the name field, enter your chosen name for the pen drive.

4. Select the "Erase" tab in Disk Utility, making sure the flash drive is selected in the list on the left-hand side of the window.

5. Choose the desired format that you want the pen drive to have. If you're planning to use it between computers with different platforms, then select MS-DOS (Fat), which will allow it to be read by both Windows and Macintosh computers. If you're planning only using for Macs, then select Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

6. Click on the "Erase..." button. Remember, this will destroy all the data on the pen drive, so back up any data you want to save before getting to this point.

7 Eject the pen drive, either by dragging it into the trash, or using the eject button (the triangle icon) in the finder window.

Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac OS finally released

Posted: 20 Dec 2010 01:43 AM PST

About time, eh? Wintel users have been enjoying the spoils of WiFi music sync on their BlackBerry handsets for the past few months now, but if you're still stickin' with RIM (through the thick and thin), and you just so happen to roll primarily on OS X, there's a new piece of software that you should consider. BlackBerry Desktop Software 2.0 for Mac OS has just been let loose, and it's a pretty substantial update. Aside from supporting WiFi music sync in official fashion, there's also a new device switch wizard and the ability to import and sync photos and videos with iPhoto and iTunes. She's waiting for you there in the source link -- all 39.713 megabytes. You know what to do. – via Engadget

CE Mock Interviews For CEans

Posted: 19 Dec 2010 10:52 PM PST

CEans,

It had been an old idea and we're seriously talking about implementing it. The most common problem faced by many engineering candidates is that they are totally unprepared for the campus recruitment interviews.

We are planning to setup mock interviews for all our CEans. CEans will have a chance to appear for 'mock interview' conducted by experienced seniors who actually conduct interviews for their own companies.

The CEans will then be shared a feedback about their performance and also given personalized improvement tips.

We plan to have a fee for each Interview and it's going to be available exclusively to all the CEans.

Share your feedback.

Is Publicly Displaying Your Photos On Social Networks Okay?

Posted: 19 Dec 2010 09:42 PM PST

I remember the times (in 2002-2004) when uploading your real photographs on the Internet was a taboo among many people. Lot of people feared that their photos could get manipulated on the Internet and misused.

However, the times seems to have change now. I see many people upload all their photo collection on the Internet and knowingly or unknowingly make it available for everyone to view and download.

Do you think it's a good thing? Do people do it consciously or it's just ignorance to "Online Privacy of Personal Information"?

Share your opinion.

How to be insanely great in front of any audience!
