Some of the Tips and Techniques in GRE test Posted: 12 Dec 2010 04:07 AM PST Hi friends one of my class friends, who had written the GRE test recently secured 1580/1600.I asked her for the reason of securing high score in GRE!She gave me some tips and techniques which she has followed! Here comes some of the tips: Be aware by the time you have finished your GRE preparation, you should be aware of the type of questions that will appear in the GRE Test. You should also be aware of how long each section is and the time limits. This will help you pace yourself through the test. Know the directions for each question Knowing the directions for the questions beforehand will save your valuable time. But remember the directions for the questions in the GRE Test might be slightly different from the ones in your study material. So always read the instructions but do it quickly. Don't stick to one question for too long. By the time you have finished your GRE preparation, you should have a good estimate of how much time you can give to a particular question. Don't get stuck on one particular question for too long. This might cause you to lose precious time and miss questions you could have easily done. Don't Rush The GRE Test is about optimizing. Finishing the paper first is not what is important. You should devote just the right amount of time to each question. Maximizing your marks in a given period of time is your aim. So don't rush it as that might cost you valuable marks. The questions at the beginning are the most important The questions at the beginning affect your score more than those towards the end. Take your time with those questions. It is vital that you get those questions right. Getting these correct will dramatically improve your score. Selection by elimination: When you don't know the answers to some questions, try and use the method of elimination. You may have a very good idea of which option cannot be the answer. Eliminate such options. It narrows down your guess to just maybe two options and sometimes down to one. Don't leave any question The GRE Test does not penalize you for wrong answers. So never leave any question unanswered. Be very sure of your answer before proceeding With the Computer-Adaptive Test (CAT) for GRE, you cannot return to a question once you have attempted it. You cannot leave the difficult questions for later nor can you check your answers towards the end even if you have extra time. So pace yourself properly and be very certain of your answers. Get adequate rest the night before Do a test drive exactly a week before your test Getting to the test center on time is vital. In fact you should try and get to the test center 15-30 minutes before time. Taking a test drive to you test center exactly a week before might be a good idea. This will give you a rough idea of the traffic conditions at the time and day of your GRE. One of the things you need is a chronometer. (In case you don't know what that means, start preparing for the GRE vocabulary ;-) And lastly DON'T PANIC No matter what happens, DON'T PANIC. Keep your cool all the time, even when you don't know the answer. Once you panic, you might even answer the easiest questions wrongly. If you feel yourself getting tense, take a short break, and calm yourself down.

How to hack the firefox for fast performance? Posted: 12 Dec 2010 02:43 AM PST Hi friends got an informative latest news for you all! There are many people out there complaining about the Firefox RAM Memory Bug. Its not a bug. It's part of the cache feature. This is how the web pages are cached in a tabbed environment. To improve performance when navigating (studies show that 39% of all page navigations are renavigations to less than 10 pages which were already visited usually using the back button)Here Firefox implements a Back-Forward cache that retains the rendered document for the last five session history entries for each tab. If you have a lot of tabs, Firefox's RAM memory usage can climb in an impressive manner. What you get out of it is faster performance as you navigate the web. Now a lot of us have found the secrets on how to manipulate settings in about:config to drop the memory usage as long as possible and to increase the speed at which Firefox loads sites. These tweaks below will make it even greater and faster. So enjoy! Reduce the amount of RAM Firefox uses for its cache feature: Here are the steps how to do it: 1. Type about:config in the adress bar in the browser. 2. Find browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewer 3. Set its value to zero Increase the Speed in Which Firefox loads pages 1. Type about:config into the address bar and hit Enter. (Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.) 2. Now Alter the entries as follows: Set network.http.pipelining to true Set network.http.proxy.pipelining to true Set network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to some number like ten. This means it will make ten requests at once. 3. Finally right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set its value to Zero This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages faster now. Optionally (for even faster web browsing) here are some more options for your about:config (you might have to create some of these entries by Right Click > New > Interger or String network.dns.disableIPv6: set false content.notify.backoffcount set Five plugin.expose_full_path set true. ui.submenuDelay set zero Reduce RAM usage to 10mb when Firefox is minimized: This little hack will drop Firefox's RAM usage down to 10 Mb when minimized: 1. Open Firefox and go to the Address Bar. Type in about:config and then press Enter. 2. Right Click in the page and select New -> Boolean. 3. In the box that pops up enter config.trim_on_Minimize Press Enter. 4. Now select True and then press Enter. 5. Restart Firefox. These simple tweaks will make your web browsing with Mozilla Firefox 2-3 times faster and easier. And I think they are fairly easy to apply. Enjoy!

Posted: 12 Dec 2010 12:18 AM PST Suppose we have a base class A and a derived class B. A and B both have same method as:- void show() { <----- ------> } Now in class B we also define show method with some other definition. We say now show method is overridden. But now i want to access the base class's show method using object of derived class. Can we do that ?
