Get an Internation Degree from PSG Tech

I just entered in PSG Tech and at present i am doing 2nd Year B.E Mechanical Engineering
As the Well know part i feel myself lucky to be a student of India's Leading Engineering College and Asia's one of the Finest Place to learn Mechanical Engineering!

How To Setup BSNL 3G Data Card In uBuntu 10.10 - Guide

Hello CEans,

Here's a quick guide on setting up BSNL 3G Data Card in uBuntu 10.10 -

1. The Easy Way -

Plug -in your data card into your laptop's USB drive. You will see that the BSNL 3G LW272 icon on your desktop. Double click on it and you will find uBuntu 3G dialer. Right click on the appropriate file and install it using uBuntu software center.

Now starts the 'luck' part -

Go to the Applications -> Internet -> and click on 'BSNL 3G'. The dialer will open. Click on the 'Connect' button (available in the second tab).

PS: This way didn't work for me. I kept on getting 'Choose Default Profile' message even after selecting it from the network settings. Interestingly, I could not enter anything in the profile settings page on the dialer.

2. The Geek way (works!) -

With your BSNL 3G Data Card plugged in, click on the Network icon in the taskbar (top right corner of your screen). You should find a new connection detected.

Click it. The connection setup wizard will launch. Proceed with it and enter obvious details. When you are on the screen where you're presented with the option to enter the APN, make sure that the APN is right. You can get information from BSNL customer care for APN. If you're located in Maharashtra, the APN is bsnlnet.

That's it, complete the setup wizard and you'll have your new setup ready. Just click on the network icon again and dial the connection. You'll get connected with 3G without any problem!

World's first 3D printed car

Stratasys and Winnipeg engineering group, Kor Ecologic are working on one of the world's most fuel-efficient and eco-friendly vehicles. Code-named" Urbee" .
It is the first car ever to have its entire body 3D printed by additive manufacturing processes. The electric / liquid-fuel hybrid reaches more than 200 mpg, highway and 100 mpg, city in U.S. gallons with either gasoline or ethanol (250 mpg highway /125 mpg city, Imperial gallons).
The car can be charged overnight for just pennies from any standard home electrical outlet. Alternately, it can be charged by renewable energy from a windmill or a solar-panel array small enough to fit on top a single-car garage.

Top international speakers lead the Technology World in partnership with UK NanoForum

November 4th 2010 - More than 60 speakers from market-leading organisations including Microsoft, the BBC and Cambridge University – including former IBM EMEA chairman Larry Hirst – are appearing at this year's Technology World in partnership with UK NanoForum conference.

Hirst was appointed a business ambassador by former Prime Minister Gordon Brown and awarded a CBE in 2006 for services to the IT industry. He is also chairman of e-skills UK, the Sector Skills Council for IT, Telecoms and Contact Centres, and chairman of the 'Transition to Teaching' Steering Committee.

In addition, Roger Mosely – the BBC's director of London 2012, who is overseeing the BBC's coverage of the London Olympics – will be delivering a keynote speech. Other speakers include Alex Gray, senior product marketing manager at Microsoft, David Bott, director of innovation programmes at the Technology Strategy Board, and Chris Rider, director of Cambridge Integrated Knowledge Centre at Cambridge University.

The Technology World in partnership with UK NanoForum event – taking place at London ExCeL on 7-8 December – showcases the best of UK science and technology to a global audience, and provides businesses, organisations and academia with the opportunity to present their products, solutions and knowledge to an unrivalled international audience. It is expected to generate £118 million of potential business transactions for technology companies in the UK.

The conference comprises three programmes – energy & environment, digital media and nanotechnology – for the 2,000 industry professionals expected to attend. Speakers representing each programme will be appearing at the event, discussing several topics such as 'Sustainable cities', 'The rise of social and casual gaming' and 'Formulating solutions with nanomaterials'.

In addition to the conference, Technology World in partnership with UK NanoForum 2010 includes some 3,000 face-to-face meetings, an exhibition, awards and a workshop programme. It has grown substantially since last year, when Technology World '09 and UK NanoForum '09 were separate events. The event provides opportunities for business-to-business collaboration, ensuring that companies of all sizes from SMEs to large corporations have the chance to network and learn from both UK and international companies.

Presenting before you this time is a CEan from Tamil Nadu who just had her 21st birthday. It's been almost an year since she joined CE and is undoubtedly one of the most active CEans. It's none other than CEan - Praveena211
Read the following interview to know more about her.

CE: Hi Praveena, you are a Crazy Computer engineer, tell us more about yourself.
Praveena: Hi friends i'm praveena from Tamilnadu doing my computer science engineering in SSN College of Engineering,Chennai.My ambition is to do M.B.A in IIM.I love to explore new things and like to help others.I don't have much faith in god and i do believe in my hardwork to achieve success in my life.I love writing poems and playing games.

CE: How did you get introduced to CrazyEngineers (CE)?
Praveena: I came to know about CE when i was surfing about system related problems in net. I always browse to learn new things and when i found CE i felt very happy and thought this is the one i'm searching for. CE is the platform for me to acquire more knowledge than any other forums.After i get introduced to CE i am trying to be active but still i feel that i'm not thoughL

CE: Why did you take up computer as your engineering trade? What do you like the most about it?
Praveena: Frankly speaking i don't have interest to do computer science engineering till 11th std. I took computer as my engineering trade just because of my sister.Whatever i achieve in my field the credit goes to her.I'm a biology student. She belongs to cse group. She learnt many languages. She does programming well and she used to show me the output when she was studying 11th.I got interested and started learning computer languages during my 12th holidays and i really enjoyed writing code:smile:That inspired me to take computer science engineering.

CE: What is your favourite pass time?
Praveena: I browse madly, reading novels and blogs.

CE: Who are your idols or inspirations?
Praveena: My greatest inspiration is my 12th std chemistry mam.I scored well in 12th just because of her.She was the one who gave me courage and determination,made me to work hard and showed me that i can achieve anything in my life.I can never forget her in my life.

CE: What is the biggest achievement in your life so far?
Praveena: The biggest achievement in my life was i got first prize in district level on the spot essay competition in 10th and i stood first in 12th std in my school.This is one of the most unforgettable days in my life.

Praveena: I would have been a cardiologist or journalist.

4. Your biggest blooper till date is?
Praveena: I argued with my dsp sir saying that what he taught was wrong and i didn't allow him to take class on that day.The next day he accepted that wat he told was wrong.But still i feel that i have done a great mistake when i see him.

5. A moment you can never forget.
Praveena: My school farewell day function and batch day in my college.They are the lovely moments which i cant forget.

6. 5 years from now, you will …
Praveena: I ll do my M.B.A and P.H.D and work in IIM as a professor.

CE: If you were a politician, what will your 5 year plan look like?
Praveena: Abolishing corruption,making rules which should be followed strictly,abolishing caste based reservation in education system,change the education system in india.

CE: What do you want to say about CE?
Praveena: CE- the place where you can bootstrap your imaginations.I gained a lot of technical and practical knowledge.It is the platform where people can showcase their talents and share information with each other.CE is the place to express new ideas and it give more chances to people to show their innovative thoughts.I have never found a forum which has more stuffs like CE. CE will rock in a way where nobody can imagine.I'm feeling glad being a part of it.

There are some moments in every person's life when we loose our confidence. Motivational dose is also necessary for our mind. So, i am requesting to all the members to put some motivational thoughts there. So that we can give up a boost to our mind (while loosing confidence) by reading these.

What makes this phone Eco-friendly?

Get promoted tweets on Google

The Google's search pages that make the biggest advertising real estate now let's you search promoted tweets. :)
In a latest news, Google has agreed to show Twitter's promoted tweets on its real-time search results page. The companies will share revenue from clicks on those ads.
Google confirmed to Sullivan that this was the first time it has ever allowed a third-party ad network to place ads on Google's own pages, although it didn't rule out developing its own ad product for real-time search.
