Computing internship in the USA, any advice from you Pro's? :) Posted: 09 Oct 2010 10:48 AM PDT Hey guys, I have been researching online for summer work in the computing field in the USA for next summer 2011. I live in Scotland and have the organisation part at my end figured out, I am travelling through bunac. I live in Scotland and will be finished 2nd year of my Bsc Computing degree by next May which is when I will start my summer plans. I have registered with a ton of summer work sites and even paid a few sites registration fee's, so called organisations that will find me a summer internship in the USA, which then want top charge even more money, I have been conned in short, but I've learnt my lesson now. I was wondering if any of you huys on here would have any advice on gow a foreign student can search for and secure a summer job in the states in I.T? I've spent two weeks on this trying to find reliable information, but the internet can be so misleading these days, as I'm sure you are all aware of. I apologise if this kind of post is not the norm for round here, I'm just frustrated and thought I'd try my luck. Thanks again for your input! Cheers, Ray |

What happen with other six addresses in BCD number system ? Posted: 08 Oct 2010 07:53 PM PDT As we know BCD(binary coded decimal) numbers representation are used in computers. With the 4-bits space you can able to address 16 numbers. But in BCD number system you only addressed 10(0-9) numbers. Can any one tell me what about the other 6 addresses...? Is it loosed....? Why don't we use hexadecimal number system for representation ? . :cean::cean::cean: |
Posted: 08 Oct 2010 01:46 PM PDT Hi all, I am making a Digital Clock. For this purpose, I need a 1 Hz signal to insert as a Clock for 'Seconds' portion of my circuit. How to create 1 Hz ? I tried 555 timer, but practically I am not getting exact 1Hz. Now I decide to make Crystal Oscillator. I have a 32.768 kHz Quartz Crystal. I have searched Internet for making the circuit. But I cannot simulate anyone of them in 'Proteus ISIS'. I want to have this 32.768kHz and then divide it using Counter(s) to have exact 1Hz signal. Now what to do? Anyone please help me with making the Crystal Oscillator Circuit and needed formulae. Thanks. |
Posted: 08 Oct 2010 09:22 AM PDT Hey guys! My name's Solomon and I have been more focused around the IT and web development sector than bonafide engineering. In college, I was an engineering major until I decided I wanted to go to medical school-- so that has pretty much been the direction I have been moving toward lately. Currently, I am working on a project called ZhoutIt that allows organizations to send use our API to send/receive text messages for free and users to post/search for parties, events, and other local based data via sms and web. The reason why I joined CE? Hmm... I guess you can say, I feel that "engineers" (whether they be civil, computer, etc)-- shape the world. So even though I am not an engineering major anymore-- I still feel contacted to those who have made a strong career out of it. Anyway! Enough of the sappy crap! Hope to meet you all! -Solomon |
