VLSI Solution announces availability of VS1000 Audio Module

Posted: 23 Sep 2010 05:10 AM PDT

September 23 2010 - The VS1000 Module is a small, low-cost, high performance, easy to use audio player that is controlled from the IO pins, UART, SPI or USB. It can be used as a "plug-in" audio board in electronic systems or as a standalone small audio player. The module has a 2 Megabyte Flash for custom firmware and audio content. In addition there is a microSD card connector for additional content.

The VS1000 Module is an ideal choice for upgrading a system to be more user friendly. The module can play spoken instructions, music, user manuals etc in multiple languages. Such applications are for instance lifts, ticket machines, vending machines, and car accessories. Alternatively, the VS1000 Module can be used as a standalone player that is triggered by IO pins, UART or USB. These kind of applications are for instance alarm systems, PC accessories and Hi-Tech toys.

The product is supported by design services, audio content preparation and pre-programming. Alternatively, the firmware can also be customized by the user by using free Integrated Development Tools (VSIDE) of the VS1000 chip of VLSI Solution.

The unit price of the product is 5 Euro ($6.50) in 100 pcs shipments and can be purchased from VLSI Solution's Web Store (http://www.vlsi.fi/en/buy.html). The product is manufactured in Finland for high quality and it supports industrial temperature range. More information is available in http://www.vlsi.fi/en/products/vs1000module.html.

Ban On Bulk SMS In India For 3 Days.

Posted: 22 Sep 2010 08:53 PM PDT

The Union Ministry of Communications & Information Technology has banned all the bulk SMS in India for the next 3 days owing to Ayodhya verdict which is expected to be announced on September 24th.

Do you think it's a good move?

How true is the proverb " Too many cooks spoil the cake"?

Posted: 22 Sep 2010 05:20 PM PDT

Personally, I like delegation of work( any team work) and expect that a specific individual be responsible for seeing the completion of work. (S)he might take inputs from others, but the responsibility completely lies with that individual.
Same goes with ideas contribution- a group of people contributing ideas to a vision will help in solidify the vision , rather than many people contributing ideas for a single task which makes it difficult to close in.

what is you take?
more the people better the work?
less the people more responsibly ?
