Free Project On Line Following Robot

Posted: 11 Sep 2010 04:07 AM PDT

his is a line follower robot I have been working on. It will travel the 202 inch long course (black tape on poster board) in 8.5 seconds. It ran the Atlanta Hobby Robot Club course in 6.93 seconds.
In September I added line finding and obstacle avoidance to the firmware and hardware. To find the 3/4 inch black line I added another set of CDS photo cells and LEDs between the rear wheels. This sensor generates an "S-Curve" (voltage over time) when the robot rolls over a line. This signature is detected with a primitive correlator in the firmware. Dark floor areas wider than about 2 inches are ignored.
The robot now has 3 bump switches to act as backup for the IR obstacle avoidance system. Click here to view a closeup of two of them and the line tracking sensor.
The robot can be turned loose in a room with the line following course and by randomly wandering around will eventually cross the line, backup to center the rear wheels on the line, then rotate until the front sensors are centered on the line at which time it begins tracking the line at full speed. The robot detects objects in it's path while line tracking and rotates 180 degrees to avoid hitting them.

Playing Music With 8051 Microcontroller : ECE Mini Project

Posted: 11 Sep 2010 04:05 AM PDT

Do you know our 8051 microcontroller can play music tones, here's an sample.
The circuit & code given here will play the music for "wishes you to be safe"
The IC LM386 is just an audio amplier, you can use any audio amplifier circuits.
More projects with music to be coming soon here

Electronic Project On Telephone Controlled Motor

Posted: 11 Sep 2010 03:52 AM PDT

This Project is used to control a single phase Motor from any where in the world through the telephone. The circuit consists of a DTMF tone detector and a powerful 8 bit Microcontroller AT89S52. The Microcontroller senses the DTMF signal through the DTMF decoder IC MT8870 and it switch on/off and speed up/down the motor according to the user need. The circuit has an inbuilt Phone Ring sensor circuit and the system will take over the phone control if it was not taken manually for more than 5 rings.
The DTMF decoder decodes the DTMF tones into digital signal and this signal was fed to the Microcontroller and according to this signal the microcontroller will control the Motor with help of the TRIAC
The system is fully password protected so the user can only control the motor and the password can be changed at any time by the following method.
1. Lift the phone
2. Dial 131 – old password – new password – again new password

ECE Main Project On Solar Tracking System Using AT89C2051

Posted: 11 Sep 2010 03:48 AM PDT

This is a power generating method from sunlight. This method of power generation is simple and is taken from natural resource. This need only maximum sunlight to generate power. This project helps for power generation by setting the equipment to get maximum sunlight automatically. This system is tracking for maximum intensity of light. When there is decrease in intensity of light , this system automatically changes its direction to get maximum intensity of light.
Here we are using two sensors in two directions to sense the direction of maximum intensity of light. The difference between the outputs of the sensors is given to the microcontroller unit.
Here we are using the microcontroller for tracking and generating power from sunlight. It will process the input voltage from the comparison circuit and control the direction in which the motor has to be rotated so that it will receive maximum intensity of light from the sun.
The power generated from this process is then stored in a lead acid battery and is made to charge an emergency light and is made to glow during night.
