Where is HDL subsystem in DSP builder Posted: 03 Sep 2010 12:14 PM PDT Hi, I am new to DSP builder and FPGA programming. I was following DSP builder example which was on implementing FIR filter using DSP builder in Simulink and generating VHDL to be implement in my cyclone 2 FPGA. I came across this block as was given in the example steps which was "HDL SubSystem block" but I can't seem to find this block in my DSP builder library... could someone tell me what is wrong... I even tried reinstalling DSP builder.. here is the tutorial that I have been using to design me FIR filter using simulink.... its on page 39 step 10 from adobe file....its on the 2nd section Implementing DSP design using FPGA.... here is the link 4shared.com - free file sharing and storage |

OMG!! 3M's Half Inch Projector Can Project 40" VGA image! W00t! Posted: 03 Sep 2010 09:17 AM PDT 3M's new tiny device is surely going to be a game changer. The half inch projector can project a 40 inch image. The device will be showcased at CES. The LCoS projector is about the size of a wireless headset, according to 3M, and tops out at VGA resolution! Posted: 03 Sep 2010 04:06 AM PDT CEans, We've setup a neat mechanism to send CE Bulletin to all the members who've opted for receiving emails from administrator. Currently, we use CE Bulletin to send updates, important announcement from CE and our partners. I wish to know, what can we include in CE Bulletin to make it more interesting and useful for all the recipients. Are there any volunteers who can help in making CE Bulletin useful by brining content, articles, stories (original), event information etc.? |

Is Java more difficult to understand than .Net? Posted: 03 Sep 2010 03:57 AM PDT This question popped up in my mind while answering one of the queries on CE Forums. I've many friends who've worked on JAVA and they say it's easier to understand. Other friends say .Net is easier. I think it would be interesting to know what our CEans think, and why? |
Posted: 03 Sep 2010 03:53 AM PDT hi guys, currently im building a passband system of 5 GHz, so I have simulated 16 QAM and its perfectly working fine at 5 GHz. But I am very new to OFDM, I have been studying on the background of OFDM and all of them only talking about baseband OFDM. Im not interested with using the MATLAB function to generate baseband 16-QAM, cause I have to analyse the changes of BER and EVM with changes of frequency. So my question is, the generated 16 QAM signal are not in complex value, cause I have summed the I and Q channel at the end, so from the summation of this I and Q channel, I actually got the 16 QAM signal which is very trivial. Then I have to shift from serial to parallel before performing IFFT in OFDM, but my question is, my signal is not complex, how could I IFFT my signal? should I use (FFT) after the serial to parallel conversion and IFFT back again, but it doesnt make sense. Please advice me on this. Thank you! Cheers! |
